When paying with a Personal Credit Card or shipping to a personal address, sales tax will be applied to the invoice. Only purchases paid for and shipping directly to a tax exempt organization will qualify for sales tax exception. Your invoice will include sales tax if we do not receive the exemption form prior to invoicing. You can enter your State Tax Exempt Code during the payment process. Before you sign the delivery receipt, inspect your shipment for any possible damage or shortages. If your FedEx Ground arrives damaged, call Hatch immediately at 800.624.7968 and we will coordinate the return and/or replacement of the merchandise. If your Truck shipment arrives damaged, write a note on the delivery receipt describing the damage. The iStartSmart® tablets and computers, WePlaySmart® multi-touch tables and TeachSmart® Learning System components are covered under warranty. If you have purchased an education material item and you are not satisfied with your purchase after 30 days, please contact Hatch. We can assist you with a warranty claim under the manufacturer's published warranty if available.
All Hatch technology sold by Hatch and HatchEarlyLearning.com is supported by our Hatch Support Team and our preferred vendors. In the unlikely event there is a defect, please contact Hatch Customer Service to have it serviced under warranty or hear about out of warranty options. Hatch Early Learning values its relationship with our customers and offers returns for most items within 30 days of shipment. You may return eligible products for a credit or a refund of the purchase price paid, less shipping and handling and any applicable restocking fees, as set forth in detail below.
If you return a purchased item that qualified you for a discount, promotional item or promotional card (e.g. buy a computer, get a free printer; buy technology, get a promotional gift card) and either (i) do not also return the discounted or promotional item or (ii) have already redeemed the promotional card, Hatch will deduct the value of the discount, promotional item or redeemed card from any refund you receive for the return of the purchased item.
Unless the product is defective or the return is a direct result of a Hatch error, Hatch will charge a restocking fee of 15% of the purchase price paid.

Registration: To use the Application, Site or Service; Hatch requires that you either purchase, or are the authorized representative of an organization that has purchased, a subscription to use the Application, Site and Services. Before data collection can begin, Hatch will require the authorized representative to provide Hatch with consent to collect sensitive data, listed below. Once registered, authorized subscribers will be able to use the Application or Site to register and set up children for progress monitoring. In connection with registering children, the Application or Site will collect certain information about the child. Registered subscribers will use the Application or Site to collect common first and last name, date of birth and a photo of the child. The combination of this data is used by the Application or Site to personally identify children for individualized progress and monitoring for educational purposes. Hatch collects data only from registered subscribers.
No, Hatch does not collect sensitive data directly from children; we respect the sensitive nature of children's privacy online. The Services are intended for use by schools, school districts, program administrators and teachers. The services are not intended for use by persons under the age of 18.

iStartSmart® Security Overview (RMS Web based Solution)
Report Management System (RMS) is designed to use the latest Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol for all communications to and from the devices. SSL is an industry-standard security protocol used for encrypting data.
Shell Squad Games (SSG) uses file system-level encryption services to ensure specific data files on the device are encrypted. File system-level encryption ensure the key data is safe if the device is lost or stolen.
Reporting Management System (RMS) uses security based Access Control Lists (ACLs) for all connections, queries, and other operations. RMS uses only SSL-encrypted connections between the database, devices, and servers. In addition, key data such as passwords is encrypted inside the database to prevent access to sensitive data from internal users with raw data access.
Optional - Full Disk Encryption:
System administrators have the option to enable password-based or pin number access to the device and if available on the device an additional OS level full disk encryption. This would ensure that all data on the device would remain inaccessible in the event that the device is lost or stolen.
Account-based Data Segmentation:
The Hatch RMS uses account-based content delivery to ensure that an organization's data is only viewed by authorized users.
The Hatch RMS is on a hosted solution that has received global security certification and compliance verification for Service Organization Control levels SOC 2 Type II and SOC 3. Additionally, our hosted solution is in compliance with the ISO 27001 Information Systems and Security standards. These credentials demonstrate Hatch's hosted solution commitment to delivering a secure experience for customers.
